Today I’m sharing a special recipe with y’all. This is a frosting recipe that my Nana would make from scratch for my Poppy’s birthday cake each year. His favorite was German Chocolate Cake with Nana’s homemade Coconut Pecan Frosting. Poppy loved treats with coconut in them.
I shared earlier about how I try to make a German Chocolate Cake with this frosting for Valentine’s Day, sort of as a celebration for Poppy’s birthday. (His birthday is Feb 13) We’ve started to make this a tradition. It’s so special to me that I have this recipe and I can share with my kids one of Poppy’s favorite treats.
Even more special, is having her hand written recipe cards.
I’m so happy to share recipes of hers with y’all. I have so many to go through. I’ve seen where people will frame special recipe cards from family members and hang them in their kitchen. I’d really like to do the same thing with some of her recipe cards!
